Deputy to the Commandant, Army Sustainment University

Mrs. Tahnee L. Moore assumed her role as the Deputy to the Commandant, U.S. Army Sustainment University, on July 27, 2025. In her current role, she advises the Commandant of the U.S. Army Logistics School on all matters pertaining to budget, manpower, logistics, university operations, professional development, and training and education for Sustainment leaders.

From January 2023 to July 2025, Ms. Moore served as the Dean of Academic Affairs/Education and Operations for Army Sustainment University. In this capacity, she was the principal consultant and advisor to the Commandant on a wide range of academic and operational matters, including strategic plans, academic services, and staff and faculty development. Dual-hatted as the ASU Provost, she was responsible for developing and integrating core competencies and organizational programs, overseeing dismissal policies, and serving as a subject matter expert on leader development and academic policies.

Prior to this, Ms. Moore held several key leadership positions. From 2017 to 2022, she was the Director of the Training Development Directorate at the Soldier’s Support Institute, where she led program execution, developed training strategies, and supported three commandants. She was the lead integrator for all training development matters, including training for the Active Component, Reserve Component, and Distributed Learning. From 2013 to 2017, she served as the Director of the Training Technology Division at the Army’s Combined Arms Support Command (CASCOM), managing the development of web-based training, virtual simulations, and gaming programs. From 2006 to 2013, she served as Chief of Counter Improvised Explosive Device (CIED) Training at the Army’s Maneuver Support Center of Excellence (MSCoE), leading a specialized team to integrate CIED training policies. She also held various training development roles at MSCoE from 2002 to 2006.

Ms. Moore's academic achievements include a Bachelor of Science from Jacksonville State University, a master’s degree in education/ Instructional Design from the University of Wyoming and was awarded an Executive Scholars certificate in growth and innovation from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. She is a graduate of the Federal Executive Institute and the Department of Defense Executive Leadership Development Program. Her many accolades include three Superior Civilian Service Awards and the TRADOC 2010 Capability Developer of the Year award.

Ms. Moore has been married for thirty-four years and has three sons and four grandchildren.
