Administrative Information

The first week will be tailored towards in processing, the Army Sustainment University Commandant, Course Director, Course Manager, Company Leadership and various agencies located on Fort Gregg-Adams will brief you on a variety of topics that pertain to daily operations and additional resources during your time here. Ensure you bring multiple copies of all documentation provided to you by your commissioning source.

In-Processing Information:

In accordance with DoD Policy, you must have a Government Travel Charge Card (GTCC) before attending school to pay for meals, a rental car, and other expenses as necessary. Complete the required training and statement of understanding prior to your arrival to facilitate issuance of a GTCC if you do not already have one. If you are on PCS orders to Fort Gregg-Adams or are an EOD Preselect, you must obtain appropriate on or off-post housing. The housing phone number is: 804-765-1597 or 804-765-2016.

Students authorized to arrive before their class report date should contact the Army Sustainment University (ASU) Privatized Army Lodging (PAL) office at 804-765-4924 or 804-765-0093 to confirm your arrival date and hotel reservation. Failure to do so may result in you not having a hotel room when you arrive.

Clothing & Equipment:

You are not required to bring your own TA-50/OCIE. You will receive issue upon arrival. If you are attending the course during cold weather months, it is highly recommended that you bring your own cold weather gear as minimal to no cold weather gear is issued. If you have been previously issued eye protection and gloves, bring them as CIF will not reissue those items. National Guard and Reserve Soldiers must ensure that there are no pending transactions in their records to ensure a smooth CIF issue at Fort Gregg-Adams. It is strongly recommended that you bring additional boots, eye protection, and gloves. Bring your Army Service Uniform or Army Green Service Uniform and at least one business casual outfit. Opportunities to Excel:

1) Distinguished Honor Graduate: The Distinguished Honor Graduate is the student with the highest OML point total in the branch specific class.

2) Honor Graduate: The Honor Graduate is the student with the second highest OML point total in the branch specific class.

3) Iron Soldier: The male and female with the highest final overall score will be awarded the Iron Soldier Award. The score will be a combination of the Army Combat Fitness Test, four-mile run under 36 minutes, and 12-mile foot march. One attempt is authorized for each event, there will be no re-assessing to increase individual scores. ACFT will occur in week 6, the four-mile run will occur in week 7, and the 12-mile foot march will occur in week 10. First time failure of any physical event will result in ineligibility for Iron Soldier.
